A Weekend at the Lake

There is nothing quite as nice as a weekend at the lake in the fall (especially October). The leaves are beginning to change; geese are in their migratory path; the night sky is full of stars ("all the stars of my life" as a 5 year old Beth stated); the eagle was in flight; lots of football on tv; and the mornings are crisp. "Awe, Fall........."
My sister, Ruthie, and her family; my niece, Jennifer, and her family; Kate and Josh; and I were prepared to relax and enjoy all of the above and enjoy being together again.
However, Brother Brooks had plans other than relaxing and enjoying fall. We painted the entire exterior of the cabin, trimmed out the windows, and even scrapped and cleaned the windows. Clean and fix up was his motto as he cracked the whip. What is up with that?!?!?!?!?
Needless to say, I am now sore, tired, and have finally gotten most of the paint off of me. I am presentable enough to go to work tomorrow. Darn it!!!!!!!
Enjoy the fall. God outdoes himself this time of year.
Grace and peace to you,
Cathy
